The 5 Degrees of Graduation

1- The application or if you were in high school "the OMG what am going to do with my life":

You basically think that this is the most exciting/ terrifying moment of your life. You are basically giving yourself permission to go to the next level. It is glamours everyone is treating you like an adult "or kinda" if you are in college then YAY you are expected to act like an adult since yesterday and if you were in high school then this is where tough decisions come along. IRL it is terrifying. Starting new has its perks but it is still a new adventure.

2- Finals week:

This one speaks for itself. Are you ever ready? Even if you are sure that you are going to ace it there is a card that you probably dropped. Is it sleep, ME time, hanging out with friends and family, eating healthy, working out, good hair days, laundry ...... and the list will never end.

3- The day before your graduation:

You are SO ready for this. You've come along way! cap and gown are ready beside you are going to rock tomorrow. I don't know if you are going to have a good night sleep or not but enjoy being excited :)

4- its the DAY!!

You are nervous but you love the way you look in that gown. Now you start thinking "wow, this is it, I did it" the guest speaker start their speech and there you are thinking "wait! is my cap right, am hungry, I might as well just take a selfie, ooh my parents/ friends are being emotional, okay pull it together DON'T cry, why is it so hot in here, I should've gone with the other shoes but I really like these, my feet hurt but who cares, why is that person in the audience sleeping" and now the inspiring speech is over and it is time for you to get up and hear your loved ones cheer for your name. Wow, you thought the name part is going to last a while. It went so fast but it was breathtaking. As you move your tassel you realize that you inspire others the way those great names of your idols inspire you. I think by now a congratulation is in order so Be you and never stop inspiring.

5- And now I need to start packing:

You are either packing to go back home, your new apartment, dorms, another city or just overseas. You and packing will always be in a love-hate relationship.
